Young scientist from Gorakhpur bags Singapore NRF Fellowship: Receives 3 million SGD for research
Gorakhpur doctor awarded with the prestigious NRF Singapore fellowship
Gorakhpur scientist, Dr. Manvinder K Sing has made it to the top seven young scientists from the world to have been offered the Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellowship. He has been offered SGD 3 million (INR 1.47 crore) by the NRF, Singapore for his research.

About Dr Manvinder K Singh:
- Dr. Singh works as an assistant professor in the cardiovascular and metabolic disorders programme. He is in the Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore
- Dr. Singh has been offered the fellowship to take up research in congenital and adult cardiovascular diseases
- His interest lies in studying congenital adult heart diseases which are a leading cause of mortality world-wide
- Singh is also an adjunct professor at National Heart Research Institute in Singapore and department of Cell and Development Biology, University of Pennsilvaniya, USA
Other achivements (as he told PTI):
- Dr Singh completed his MSC Biotechnology from Madurai Kamraj University
- He has completed a program in MD/PhD in Molecular Medicine from Hannover Medical School, Germany
- Awarded PhD Prize from Hannover Biomedical research school, Germany for his PhD thesis
- Acknowledged for excellent performance as an international student for his social and cultural engagement
