Sunil Bharti Mittal elected as International Chamber of Commerce Chairman

The office was previously held by chairman emeritus of S&P Global, Terry McGraw who will now be honorary chairman at ICC.

New Delhi: The chief executive of Bharti Group, Sunil Bharti Mittal has been elected chairman of the International Chambers of Commerce (ICC) in a vote held in Sao Paolo, Brazil on Wednesday. The office was previously held by chairman emeritus of S&P Global, Terry McGraw who will now be honorary chairman at ICC.
Mittal, the third Indian businessman to head ICC, said, “I look forward to working with our members to ensure that we continue to play a constructive role as the voice of global business in formulation of economic and trade policies to support inclusive growth. The global economy is facing unprecedented headwinds to growth and there is an urgent need to restore trade and investment as a driver of growth and jobs, particularly in the developing world and this will be a central focus of my tenure.”
ICC, founded in 1919, is one of the largest international business lobbies.
