Motorcycle rally ‘Ride for Accessibility’ flagged off in Delhi
A motorcycle rally named Ride for Accessibility was organized in the national capital today with a message to empower differently abled persons, Divyangs. The rally which saw 500 young men and women motorcycle riders was flagged off at India Gate by Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar, Science and Technology Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot.
The Ministers also administered a pledge to create mass awareness about the campaign. Street Plays and cultural programs were also organized on the occasion besides playing of musical bands. The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) [DEPwD] is also running the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan) for creating universal accessibility in built environment, public transportation, and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) ecosystem. Efforts are being made to make the campaign a mass movement by involving citizens in various States and sensitizing the society towards disability and the need for accessibility.
So let's discuss some questions related to this post:
1. Name the campaign which is running by DEPwD for creating universal accessibility in built environment, public transportation, and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) ecosystem?
2. Name the city in which a motorcycle rally ‘Ride for Accessibility’ has flagged off?
