Vivo has revised the price of its V3 smartphone to Rs 14,980 in India. The smartphone was announced in April at Rs 17,980.
Vivo V3 is a VoLTE enabled smartphone with metal unibody design and Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor. Vivo V3 features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone also offers a rear fingerprint scanner, which Vivo claims unlocks the device in just 0.2 seconds.
Under the hood, the processor is coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot. The smartphone also boasts of a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Vivo V3 is backed by a decent 2,550mAh battery.
Vivo V3 is just 7.5 mm thick and weighs 138 grams. The only downside of the device is its Funtouch OS 2.5 which is still based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and not Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As far as connectivity is concerned, the smartphone supports Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, FM Radio and USB On-The-Go.
According to Counterpoint Research, Vivo is now one of the top five smartphone vendors globally. The Chinese smartphone company recently started its own manufacturing facility in India under the Make In India initiative.

Vivo V3 is basically a low-powered sibling of Vivo V3Max which was also launched in April. The smartphone vary only in terms of display, memory and processor. They share the same camera and in our review, we had appreciated the camera prowess of Vivo V3Max. Vivo V3’s discounted price makes it a direct competitor to smartphones like Moto G4 Plus and Oppo F1.
