Former Arunachal Pradesh CM Kalikho Pul has passed away
Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress rebel Kalikho Pul was found dead at his residence in Itanagar. He was 46 years old. He allegedly hanged himself. He was the Chief Minister from the period February to July 2016. According to initial reports, he was suffering from depression and was extremely upset after his appointment was struck down by the Supreme Court. He was known to be a person of strong grit and determination.
Mr. Pul had come to power after 12 MLAs supporting then chief minister Nabam Tuki joined his camp and became theeight CM of Arunachal Pradesh. Having lost his parents at an early age, Pul went on to learn carpentry, sell furniture and serve as a casual night chowkidar at Rs 212 per month. He also sold paan, and beedi to attend a night school.
