Jute Corporation to launch "Colours of Independence" campaign in Visakhapatnam
As per the Chairman and Managing Director of Jute Corporation of India, the organization has been entrusted with the task of launching the week-long "Colours of Independence" campaign in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh from Tuesday. The "Colours of Independence" campaign will be launched in 70 cities across the country to commemorate 70 years of Independence.
In this regards, a jute fabric will be set up in a shopping mall and State HRD minister G. Srinivasa Rao will formally launch the programme on Tuesday by painting on it, while the members of the public can participate later for the next seven days, till August 15. The programme is being organised by the Union Ministry of Textiles and all the paintings will be sent to the Ministry after August 15. The programme is intended to invoke the spirit of independence and to make the present generation aware of the freedom struggle.
