PM Modi, Russian Prez Vladimir Putin to jointly dedicate Kudankulam Nuclear Plant Unit-I

The first unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant will be jointly dedicated to the nation by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin through video conferencing. While the Nuclear Power Corporation Chairman SK Sharma, Russian company Atomstroy Export President Limareenko and site Director Sundar will attend the function at Kudankulam site.

The first unit of Kudankulam power plant is generating its full capacity of 1000 megawatts of electricity. It has been built with Russian expertise following a pact between the then Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Soviet leader Mikahil Gorbachev in November 1988. But the first unit was synchronized with the southern power grid in 2013 and commercial power generation started by the end of December 2014.

So let's discuss some questions related to this post:
1. Which nuclear power plant will be dedicated to the nation by Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa, PM Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin?
2. What is the capacity of the first unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant?
