Rustom vs Mohenjo daro: Bollywood is united for Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan gets no love

Rustom vs Mohenjo Daro, Akshay Kumar vs Hrithik Roshan. August 12 brings clash of the titans in its wake and however hard the two actors try to downplay the clash of their films, it will be a battle out there during Mohenjo Daro and Rustom’s first weekend.
But before that happens, Bollywood appears to have chosen its side. To promote Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta’s Rustom, Bollywood biggies have shared videos. Salman Khan started it all with his video asking people to watch Rustom starring Rustom-e-Hind Akshay Kumar.
Next in line was Ranveer Singh who shared a Throwback picture of Akshay with him. He then followed it up with a video where he is dressed as a Naval officer and dancing to Akshay’s 90s song.
Karan Johar did what he does best — he pouted and asked people to watch Rustom. Sonakshi Sinha took to the drums and belted Rustom’s song and asked, you know the drill by now, people to watch Rustom.
As compared to this, how many stars have endorsed Mohenjo Daro? None. It can be a strategy. But then, what is one supposed to make of Akshay Kumar’s quote about Salman’s video, “He did it on his own. It shows we are all united. Around 180 films are made in the industry (in a year) and many are left incomplete. We are not race horses that we have to push forward and show one-upmanship. There is a lot of work in Bollywood and not enough heroes and heroines. There is plenty of space for all of us and it’s not about competition,” he added.
Bollywood biggies videos promoting Rustom:
But why is Bollywood only united for Akshay and not Hrithik who is coming on screen after almost two years. The Mohenjo Daro actor has faced quite an upheaval in his personal life too. Hrithik’s divorce followed by his public and legal face-off with Kangana Rananut have kept him in news but not for professional reasons.
How Rustom and Mohenjo Daro fare at the box office is something we will get to know in a week, but, till then, Bollywood is working hard on making Rustom the winner.
