19-metre-high wave sets world record: UN
A 19-metre-high wave in the North Atlantic Ocean has set a world record for being the highest-ever measured by a buoy, the United Nations World Meteorological Organization said on Tuesday. Taller than a six-storey building, it occurred in February 2013 after a "very strong cold front" passed through the area. The previous record-holder was an 18.275-metre-high wave.
