India, Bangladesh have inaugurated Petrapole checkpost
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina jointly inaugurated the Petrapole Integrated Check Post at Petrapole-Benapole point of the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal through video-conferencing, in which West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has also participated from Kolkata. It is the second ICP on the India-Bangladesh border after the Agartala ICP at the Agartala (India)-Akhaura (Bangladesh) land border. It will also be the biggest land port in South Asia. The cost of the project is 200 crore.
The multipurpose check post is aimed at further facilitating increased India-Bangladesh trade. It will provide better facilities for effective and efficient discharge of functions such as security, immigration, customs, quarantine, etc, while also providing support facilities for smooth cross-border movement of persons, goods and transport. The commissioning of the Petrapole ICP will also serve to foster greater economic integration and connectivity between India and Bangladesh.
So let's discuss some questions related to this post:
1. The Petrapole Integrated Check Post at Petrapole-Benapole point is inaugurated at the border of which two nations?
2. What is the cost of the Petrapole Integrated Check Post project?
