Rajnath Singh to visit Pakistan to attend SAARC conference
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Pakistan next week to attend the two-day South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation’s (SAARC) meeting of Home Ministers. The conference will be held in Islamabad on Wednesday (3rd August) and Thursday (4th August). Mr Singh will be accompanied by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officers of the Ministry. Home Minister Singh will raise the issue of cross-border terrorism at the meeting.
The conference is likely to focus on strengthening networking among police authorities of SAARC member-countries and enhancing information-sharing among law enforcement agencies. The first meeting of SAARC Interior/Home Ministers was held in Dhaka on May 11, 2006, followed by a meeting in New Delhi in 2007. The last conference of SAARC Home Ministers was held in Kathmandu in 2014.
So let's discuss some questions related to this post:
1. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit which country to attend the SAARC conference?
2. Expand the term SAARC?
