Odisha CM directs DCs to extend Madhu Babu Pension Scheme


Odisha Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has directed all the district collectors to extend Madhu Babu Pension Scheme to three lakh more beneficiaries from August 15. While 47 lakh people have already been covered under the Madhu Babu Pension Scheme, the number of beneficiaries will increase to 50 lakh from August 15. 

The social security scheme ensures that the eligible elderly people get pension varying from Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 per month. The government of Odisha has named its state pension scheme with a peculiar name and would be now known as Madhu Babu Pension Yojana.  The scheme would provide pension to additional three lakh people in the state of Odisha.  This would be effective the year 2008. The pension under the scheme would be provided to handicapped, widows and old age people.
